Protocols are downloadable documents which were associated to decision rules of crop protection strategies.
Each protocol should detail its objectives, how to using it, the author credits and the bibliography. Advantages and disadvantages of the method are listed. The protocol describes the functioning of the decision rules, particularly the variables to be informed as indicators and the way to sample its. The threshold parameters of decision-making and the actions to be operated are indicated as advices.
The Decision Support System -DSS- is an engine which activates the decision rules to give advices adapted to the health crop statut.
When consulting the DSS, the user selects a plant protection strategy according to a cropping system. Some decision rules are then available to address to a certain range of cropping situations, in the framework of the integrated pest management (IPM).
When an appropriate rule is selected, the user has to fill the indicators which are quantitative or qualitative variables. Set the observed value when the indicator is quantitative or select a value from the choice-box when the indicator is qualitative. All indicators should be informed.
After validation, DSS advices are listed. Their priority rank depends on adequacy of the situation observed, as defined by an expert. If the DSS does not found advice corresponding to the situation, it displays the mention: 'Check input: it is however possible that there is no advice for the indicated values'.
At this last step, one can consult the observed value and the limit conditions conditioning the DSS process. It is possible to archive the advices.
The archive displays the date, the observed values and the advice. Archived advices can be consulted by period, strategy and/or decision rule.
A feedback form regarding the efficiency of each advice can be filled.
The archive can be edited: read, modify, delete fully or partially.
